‘Gastro Glasto' festival coming to Tatton Park this weekend with Masterchef stars and Sophie Ellis-Bextor

Top chefs and musicians will be descending on Tatton Park for a weekend fit for foodies.

The Foodies Festival will take place this weekend from today until Sunday (July 7-9). Alongside music from big artists, there will also be live cooking demonstrations and talks from stars of The Great British Bake Off, Great British Menu and MasterChef.

Regarded as the UK’s biggest touring celebrity food and music festival series, the event will feature Adam Reid, Great British Menu winner and Head Chef at The French, MasterChef Champion 2021 Thom Rhodes, and Simon Wood from Wood restaurant.

There will also be demonstrations from Dario Carvalho, Head Chef at 20 Stories and MasterChef: The Professionals contestant, and Aiden Byrne, who has appeared on regular TV cooking shows and is also chef-patron from 2 AA Rosette awarded The Church Green in Lymm.

Love Island stars and chefs The Alberti Twins and Daily Telegraph columnist and author Eleanor Steafel will also be making appearances.

Music across the three-day festival will come from Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Scouting for Girls and a cocktails and cabaret event with a leading ABBA tribute band.

"We always look forward to Foodies and it just wouldn’t be summer without it,” Scouting for Girls said. “The festival has a great vibe and we often bring our family and friends along to enjoy the fun. We’ve all taken a liking to the Japanese Bao Buns and the Jamaican Jerk Chicken, so we’ll also be looking forward to scoffing that! See you soon Cheshire.”

In addition to demonstrations and performances, there will be a Kids Cookery School where younger guests can prepare food which can then be taken away. There will also be masterclasses in tutored Champagne, beer, cider, cocktail and wine-tasting, including presentations from BBC expert Joe Wadsack and award-winning local breweries.

Visitors will also be able to treat themselves at the Shopping Village, meet local producers in the Artisan Market and taste exotic and unusual new dishes in the Feasting Tent. There will also be a chilli eating competition, a fairground, children’s activities, and family-friendly areas.

A minibus will run between Knutsford Station and the festival every 30 minutes. Parking is also available at Tatton Park. Day tickets from £3 for children and £18 for adults. Weekend tickets are also available. Tickets can be purchased here.
