Gastric bypass patient awarded $300k in medical negligence suit

A woman has been awarded more than $300,000 after a court found a surgeon failed to properly diagnose her medical conditions.

In an ACT Supreme Court decision, published on Thursday, September 24, Dr Calista Spiro was found to have breached a duty of care in failing to properly diagnose the patient and not fully or properly advising her of treatment options.
