Convicted sex offender Gary Talbot was back in court on Wednesday where he was sentenced for possessing just under 100,000 indecent pictures and videos of children.
The former school bus driver and postman from Newcastle, Co Down and his wife Heather were jailed in February 2020 for a campaign of “vile” sexual offences against a child they began abusing as a toddler.
Talbot was initially handed a sentence of 15 years whilst his wife had a six-year sentence imposed. On appeal in October 2020, Talbot’s sentence was increased to 21 years and hers was doubled to 12 years. Talbot, 63, was returned to court today where he was handed an extended custodial sentence comprising of four years in jail followed by an extended licence period of three years.
