Gary O'Neil gives Bournemouth injury update ahead of Leeds United clash with key trio absent

Gary O'Neil has confirmed Bournemouth will be without three key players for this weekend's trip to Elland Road. Cherries shot stopper Neto will be absent from the matchday squad, along with defender Lloyd Kelly and playmaker David Brooks.

The Premier League new boys have lost three games on the bounce following a six-game unbeaten run under interim boss O'Neil. While the Cherries temporary coach has said that run is irrelevant, it bodes well for Leeds United ahead of this weekend's game.

Leeds themselves have had a torrid time of late but were able to banish any short-term fear of relegation with a surprise win at Liverpool. A win against the Cherries this weekend would put Jesse Marsch's side back on the right track, but the game against Bournemouth will be no walk in the park, as they know all too well following defeat to Fulham on home soil earlier this season.

“We’re the same as we were," said O'Neil in his press conference this afternoon. “It comes too quick for Lloyd Kelly, David Brooks and Neto. The rest of the group are fine.

"Neto will not play again before the World Cup. The break might come too soon for Lloyd as well, but he's doing well. In terms of Brooksy, we also probably won't see him before the World Cup."
