Manchester United legend Gary Neville has slammed the Glazer family for their 'negligent' ownership of the club.
The Americans have been in charge at Old Trafford since 2005, but have faced increasing opposition from Red Devils supporters. They also recently turned down a takeover bid from Sir Jim Ratcliffe, one of Britain's richest men.
The Glazers have instead slapped an astronomical £9billion price tag on the Premier League club, which means they will likely remain in control for some time to come. Neville has frequently criticised the family for its style of ownership, something he has renewed amid the collapse of Ratcliffe's bid.
"I think they [United fans] will be frustrated - but I think they will also recognise that Jim Ratcliffe was very respectful towards the family. I think if you're going to be disrespectful to the family, they're not going to do business with you in the future," he told the Daily Mail.
"What he did felt like to me like, 'Look, the owners don't want to sell but they were very decent with me' and if that changes in the future, then maybe he'll be there. I can't see how this is sustainable, how they can't bring in investment, or a partner or sell.
"I just can't see it. They haven't got the money to be able to do what Manchester United need. United cannot continue to have a stadium like they have, when the rest of the stadiums in Europe and in the Premier League are improving on the scale that they are.

"It would just be absolute negligence to not get that stadium up to the level it needs. That is half a billion on a refurb, a billion plus on a new stadium. Then you've got the training ground investment."
Neville also believes that United will need to continue spending large sums if they are to compete with their rivals in the Premier League. The Englishman has been "frustrated" that Ratcliffe's offer was turned down as a result.
Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all made major transfer splurges in the summer transfer window. Three of those clubs sit ahead of United in the Premier League table, despite the Red Devils themselves spending big.
Neville revealed that United had spent more than their summer budget to complete their business, leaving them low on cash entering the January transfer window. That left their former skipper annoyed that the discussions with Ratcliffe had not progressed.
United currently sit fifth in the top flight under Erik ten Hag, who was appointed as manager in the summer. The Glazers will be hoping they can return to the Champions League, in order to boost the club's cash reserves.
