Gary Neville sends message to Manchester United U18s ahead of FA Youth Cup final

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has sent a message to the U18s ahead of their clash with Nottingham Forest in the FA Youth Cup final on Wednesday night.

The youngsters will be looking to secure the trophy in front of a bumper crowd at Old Trafford. Should they beat Forest, they'll become the first United side to lift the trophy since 2011.

Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Ravel Morrison were all in the team the last time United tasted success in the competition. Travis Binnion's side is full of promising youngsters, with Alejandro Garnacho's performances this season seeing him handed his senior debut.

Neville was a part of the famous United side who were crowned Youth Cup winners in 1992, and the former United skipper has taken to social media to show his support ahead of Wednesday's final. He wrote on Instagram: "30 years on and the Youth team are there again!

"What a crowd and what an experience for the lads. Go and do it boys."

United are looking for their 11th triumph in the illustrious youth tournament. More than 70,000 fans are expected to be in attendance at Old Trafford for the showpiece event.
