Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes Erik ten Hag's side will still finish above Arsenal in the Premier League table this season.
Ten Hag's men defeated Newcastle 2-0 in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday afternoon, with Casemiro and Marcus Rashford both on the scoresheet for the Reds. It was United's first trophy since 2017, but they still have the opportunity to win the Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup as well this term.
While an unlikely quadruple is still technically a possibility, the United manager has insisted that he and his players are not thinking about it. The Reds currently sit eight points behind league-leaders Arsenal in the Premier League, and Neville fears that his former side will fall just short of winning the title this season.

However, Neville does not believe it will be the Gunners that United finish behind, with the Sky Sports pundit reiterating his opinion that Manchester City will eventually win the league title. He claimed that Ten Hag's men may well find themselves in second place at Arsenal's expense come the end of the campaign.
"That’s my inkling earlier in the season, what normally happens is one team gets so close they realise they can’t win it and then they just go like that in the last two or three games," he said on The Overlap. "You lose two games and then all of a sudden someone else goes above you. I thought City would win the league and United would finish second two or three months ago.
"To be fair, I’m not going to change my mind on it. I still think City are going to win the league even though Arsenal, the closer it gets… but 14 games is still a long way to go. I still think United will finish second."
Mikel Arteta's side currently sit eight points clear of United in the table, with the two sides having played the same amount of matches. The Gunners face relegation-threatened Everton and Bournemouth in the Premier League this week before United are back in top-flight action, against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
