Gary Neville believes that Erling Haaland will be 'sensational' for Manchester City this season, but he doesn't think he will outscore Harry Kane.
After a two-year hunt for an new elite striker, City finally got their man when they agreed to sign Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this summer for £51m. The 22-year-old Norway international scored 86 goals in 89 matches for the German side, making him the hottest attacking property in world football.
However, had City got their way in 2021 then Haaland would not have returned to the club his father played for. City were left frustrated last summer after their attempts to sign Kane from Tottenham proved fruitless.

Many pundits predicted that City would struggle to win the Premier League without the out-and-out striker Pep Guardiola so desperately wanted, but the Blues went on to pip Liverpool to the title by a point.
Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville, who is tipping City to retain their crown, believes that Haaland will be 'sensational' this season. However, speaking on the Overlap in partnership with Sky Bet, Neville said he thinks City's old transfer target will outscore him.
"Kane [will score more than Haaland]. I’m just more sure of it, I'm more sure Harry Kane will hit a specific number. I’m not sure what Haaland will do – it could be 40, it could be 18 or 20, I just don’t know," Neville said.
Haaland scored his first goal for City in a pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich, before enduring a frustrating afternoon in City's 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Community Shield.
The 22-year-old could make his Premier League debut this Sunday when City travel to London to face West Ham in their league opener.
