Here is your Liverpool FC morning digest for Monday, October 31.
Top-four talk
Gary Neville believes Manchester United have a 'great chance' of pipping Liverpool to a top-four place after they beat West Ham United 1-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Marcus Rashford scored his fourth league goal of the season to push the Red Devils into fifth place, a point off Newcastle United in fourth, and seven above above ninth-placed Liverpool, who dropped yet more ground on their Champions League -chasing rivals after they were beaten 2-1 by Leeds United on Saturday evening.
Prior to Liverpool's late kick-off on Saturday night, Newcastle thumped Aston Villa 4-0, while Tottenham Hotspur came from 2-0 down at Bournemouth to win 3-2 in the dying minutes - leaving the Jurgen Klopp's side closer to the bottom three than the top four. And Neville believes that his former side are now in with a great shout of qualifying for the Champions League, potentially at Liverpool's expense.
Diaz injury update
Luis Diaz has shared an injury update with Liverpool supporters as he continues his road to recovery following an injury picked up in an away defeat by Arsenal three weeks ago.
The Colombian winger was forced off with five minutes remaining in the match between the sides at the Emirates Stadium and is not expected to feature again for the Reds until after the World Cup is over. Jurgen Klopp's side have certainly missed the direct nature of the 25-year-old in recent matches, having slumped to league losses versus Nottingham Forest and Leeds United of late.
Taking to Instagram to provide fans with an insight into his rehabilitation work, Diaz posted an image on his story of himself at the club's AXA Training Centre being put through a knee strengthening exercise while wearing a bandage.
