Gary Neville makes 'beautiful' Liverpool admission after Arsenal win

Gary Neville labelled Liverpool's win against Arsenal at the Emirates on Wednesday night as a 'classic title winning performance' as the Reds moved to within a point of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.

The game in North London was goalless at the half-time break, but two quick fire goals from Diogo Jota and substitute Roberto Firmino ensured Liverpool would take advantage of City's draw at Crystal Palace on Monday night.

There are now just nine games remaining in the Premier League for both City and Liverpool as just a single point separates the title chasing pair. Jurgen Klopp 's side travel to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, April 10 in what is a match the whole world is sure to have eyes on.

" A classic title winning performance. We know that Liverpool have a big fight against Man City, but, if you ever thought of a game that made you think ‘something is happening’. You get through the difficult period of the match, the crowd is up and the other team is in good form. You get through it, not comfortably, but you stand your ground. You get a telling off from your manager and then you come out and go ‘bop, bop’," said Sky Sports pundit Neville.

"Not only did Liverpool do that, but they went and saw the game out beautifully. Before they scored twice, the goalkeeper made a world class save. The amount of times that I played in games where you relied on a Schmeichel or a Van der Sar save. Players and coaches don’t forget those moments.

"It had everything about a title winning team. You had strength off the bench. Jota and Dias weren’t quite at it, but then Salah came off the bench and so did Firmino and they had a big impact on the game. Everything you would imagine in a title winning performance was there."
