Laura Anderson says a Saint is to thank for her boyfriend Gary Lucy surving a horror car crash on Boxing Day.
The former Love Island star, 33, took to social media to express her thanks to Saint Joseph, who she belives was looking out for the ex Hollyoaks actor, 41, when he was rushed to hospital after miraculously living through the collision which wrecked his Range Rover.
Upoading a picture of a saint card which Lucy - who played the character Luke Morgan in the Channel 4 soap - explained that it had been given to him by his grandmother.
Alongside the picture, she wrote: “We’re not religious but thank you St Joseph for saving my love.
“Gary’s gran gave him this, it had words about safety and protection on the other side. I pulled it out of his bag yesterday morning just before his accident.”
She went on to ask her followers: “Do you keep anything sentimental with you for protection?”
Lucy himself appeared to think someone was looking out for him too.
Sharing details of the crash on his own social media account, including two photos of the wreckage.
“Someone was watching over me today,” he wrote, captioning the second photograph “Gary nine lives”.
The images showed the car by the side of a snowy road, with the front bumper destroyed and front wheels removed.
Lucy’s other acting credits include Danny Pennant in EastEnders, Kyle Pascoe in Footballer’s Wives and Will Fletcher in The Bill.
He and Anderson had celebrated their first Christmas together the day before after meeting while taking part in Celebrities Go Dating earlier this year.
Their union came after Anderson split from Another Level star Dane Bowers, 42, in August following a five-year romance.
