Gary Lineker has joked of a 'delightful' Boxing Day after watching his beloved Leicester City side dismantled 3-0 by Newcastle United alongside Alan Shearer. The Magpies showed no signs of any rustiness following the six-week World Cup break as they produced a stellar performance to move up to second in the Premier League.
Eddie Howe's side found themselves 2-0 to the good and well in control of proceedings after just seven minutes thanks to Chris Wood's penalty and Miguel Almiron's well crafted goal. Almiron collected a neat one-two from Bruno Guimaraes before sliding a now customary neat finish past Danny Ward for his eighth goal in nine matches.
Joelinton then rounded off the win with his second goal of the season just after the half-hour mark to cap a rampant first half of action. Newcastle then defended resolutely in the second half to keep their clean sheet in tact with Sven Botman once again shining, who is still yet to lose in black and white.

Lineker is widely known to be a big Leicester supporter having been born there and playing almost 200 matches for the club during his playing career. Shearer, meanwhile, is of course a big Newcastle fan and will have no doubt been basking in his side's glory alongside Lineker during an impressive 90 minutes.
Writing on his official Twitter, he said: "What a delightful way to spend Boxing Day: watching your team get smashed by @NUFC in the company of @alanshearer. "
The two will have been likely watching the game alongside each other ahead of tonight's Match of the Day show on BBC One. The programme is set to get underway at 22.50, when you can again watch the highlights of a superb Boxing Day for the Magpies.
