Gary Barlow praises 'beautiful' Northumberland after staying in region between Tyne Theatre shows

Gary Barlow has urged his fans to visit Northumberland, after being blown away by the 'beautiful' region, when staying there between his performances in Newcastle this week.

Music megastar Gary is coming to the end of his A Different Stage tour, which has seen him play venues much smaller than he's used to. While, both as a member of Take That and and as a solo artist, Gary has packed out arenas across the country, the celebrated singer/songwriter has deliberately picked smaller auditoriums for his latest venture, which sees him bare his soul in an honest auto autobiographical production.

Gary brought his A Different Stage shows to the Tyne Theatre in Newcastle city centre this week, delighting fans at three consecutive packed out performances on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Gary wowed audiences with a near two hour show that sees him go right back to the start of his music career, with nods to his time as a club singer. He also talks about tough times in both his career and private life, while of course, tinkling the ivories to play Take That classics and some unexpected cover versions.

Gary headed off for his next run of shows the minute he took his bows at the Tyne Theatre on Wednesday night and, taking to Twitter, as well as thanking Geordie fans, he was quick to heap praise on Northumberland. Every time a big star comes to town, speculation is rife on where they'll stay.

Well, rather than staying in the city, Gary chose to rest his head further north. And, while not giving the exact location, it's clear Gary was bowled over by what Northumberland has to offer. He tweeted: "Other than playing 3 shows I’ve had the privilege of staying in Northumberland this week - wow wow wow - if you ever get the chance take it - so beautiful."

His North East followers were quick to react, with one replying: "So many places to visit!! My fav is Low Newton & the Ship Inn on the doorstep of such a beautiful beach - #Northumberland is such a special place full of #EndlessExperiences," and another replying: "My home county!!!! Pleased you enjoyed it, come back soon!!"
