The Yorkshire and former England batsman Gary Ballance has met his former teammate Azeem Rafiq and apologised for racist language used while they played together at Yorkshire, and Rafiq in turn has called for Ballance “to be allowed to get on with his life”.

In a statement released after the pair met in London this week, Ballance again apologised to the man he had once considered a friend.
