Garth Crooks describes Liverpool defender Joe Gomez as a 'unique talent' after starting at right-back in the absence of Trent Alexander-Arnold during the Reds' 2-0 win at home to Watford on Saturday afternoon.
Gomez has struggled for game time this season after finding himself fourth in the centre back pecking order following a horrific knee injury he suffered on England duty in November 2021. The 24-year-old finds himself behind Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and new arrival Ibrahima Konate.
The England international has been linked with a move away from Anfield in the summer - with Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa reportedly rumoured to be interested - but Gomez could work his way back to being a starter at Liverpool if he was to be patient.
