Garth Brooks shares simple message ahead of Croke Park gigs with a nostalgic teaser video

Garth Brooks has posted a teaser video to Twitter ahead of his historic Croke Park gigs, kicking off this Friday.

The American country music star teased fans by simply saying: “It’s time.”

Excitement has been building for Garth Brooks’ five concerts in Croke Park after his 2014 gigs had to be cancelled.

Brooks will finally return to the GAA venue on Friday, September 9, followed by shows on 10, 11, 16 and 17.

400,000 fans will descend on Drumcondra to attend the sold-out shows, and Brooks himself has added to the growing excitement.

A video was posted to the official Garth Brooks Twitter account with the caption, “It’s Time! Love, G.”

It starts off with a clip of the singer walking on the stage in Croke Park as it is being prepared for the shows. We then see some black and white footage of Brooks performing in the stadium back in 1997.

Throughout the clips, we see a helicopter flying over the stadium, Brooks crowd-surfing, what looks like a t-shirt gun, and, of course, the audience going wild.

The video changes between these old clips and of Brooks taking in the stage in present time. At the end, he turns to face the camera to say: “It’s time.”

Fans of the star were quick to respond, with many replying to say just how excited they are.

One said: “Welcome back to Ireland Garth. 25 years it has been too long. Here's to one hell of a time with Garth.”

“Genuinely, I can’t wait. I’ve been doing the countdown for this concert for so long, I don’t even know what to look forward to afterwards,” another wrote.

A third said: “Simply cannot wait.”

Many fans who aren’t even going to the concerts wanted to wish the singer well on his long-awaited return to Croke Park. One said: “I've never been so excited for something and I won't even be there. I am absolutely elated for you to finally get this chance to return and for all the fans that get to experience this epic adventure.”

“So happy for you and the fans in Ireland! I know it will be an amazing time! As always I wish I could be there! Love you G!” another said.
