Garth Brooks enjoys Glendalough visit as he takes a break from Croke Park concerts

Garth Brooks has been snapped making the most of his time in Ireland as the star stays here to perform five concerts at Dublin's Croke Park.

The country music hitmaker has already played three concerts at the stadium and is due to play another two on Friday and Saturday, September 16 and 17.

Yesterday, the singer, along with his wife Trisha Yearwood, travelled to Wicklow to visit Glendalough. The pair were pictured holding hands while strolling through the cemetery along with a guide.

The 60-year-old star also popped into the family-run Wicklow Heather Restaurant, owned by Betty Kenny.

"We sure had friends in high places today when Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood dropped in to the Wicklow Heather for lunch today," the restaurant wrote on social media yesterday alongside a photo of the famous couple.

They added: "They are such a lovely couple and we were so happy to show them our antique book collection."

At a press conference last week, Garth revealed that he and his wife would be celebrating her 58th birthday while in Ireland, telling press that they will be treating their time here like a second Honeymoon.

Garth has been busy getting out and about whilst in Ireland. The performer delighted surprised fans when he appeared for a sing-sing in a north inner city playground.

Garth joined fans on Saturday afternoon at Portland Place where he was filmed joining in on a sing-song of his hit The Dance.

During his first show at Croke Park on Friday night, Garth became overwhelmed with emotion falling to his knees in awe of the adoring crowd.

Choking back the tears, the Friends in Low Places singer told the audience: "We came back. I just want to enjoy this moment. I love you.

"I don’t know what words could describe this, and the return since 1997, so I’ll not try. I came here for one purpose and that was to raise some hell."

"Dublin this is what it is going to be like all night long," he added.
