Gareth Bale's LAFC wage has been revealed, with a shock decrease on the deal which made him one of the highest paid players in the world during his time at Real Madrid.
The former Spurs man is earning a base salary of $1,600,000 (£1,413,672) which is very small in comparison to his wage in Madrid which saw him earn a whopping £28,800,000 during the course of his six-year contract which expired in the summer.
This saw him ranked as one of Europe's top earners, but now his wage doesn't even see him ranked in the top ten earners in the MLS, with the league revealing the salaries of its top earners this week.

By comparison, the league's top earner is former Napoli man and Euro 2020 winner with Italy Lorenzo Insigne, who earns $14,000,000 (£12,369,630). This contract with Toronto FC sees him dwarfing Bale's wage and earning almost double that of the next highest earner, with former Liverpool star Xherdan Shaqiri earning $7,350,000 (£6,494,055) with Chicago Fire.
The next highest earners are former Manchester United and West Ham striker Javier Hernandez with $6,000,000 (£5,301,270) and another Euro 2020 winner, former Juventus man Federico Bernardeschi who earns $3,125,000 (£2761078) with Toronto FC.
Bale has not quite hit the heights so far with LAFC, with his World Cup participation with Wales coming up, but he has helped his side top the Western Conference which saw them through to the Conference semi-finals. He has been joined by Giorgio Chiellini who does not even make the MLS list of their top earners with $1,070,000 (£945,393) salary well below what might be expected of such a decorated star.
However, the 38-year-old has managed nine starts and will likely be on the pitch when the 'El Trafico' derby takes place in the Conference semi-finals against LA Galaxy this weekend.
