Gardai set up unusual checkpoint on the way into city centre as multiple motorists caught out

Co Kildare

Gardai were busy on Ireland's roads in recent days as they conducted multiple checkpoints across the country.

A number of motorists were found to have been contravening road safety rules and will face fines with one person arrested.

One particular multi-agency checkpoint near Waterford city included RSA, Customs Office and Social Welfare Inspectors as well as gardai.
