Gardai have renewed their appeal for witnesses to a fatal crash that happened a month ago.
The collision involving a car and an articulated truck happened on the N4 in Rathowen, Co Westmeath around 12.30pm on December 15.
The driver of the car, a man aged in his 70s, was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar in a critical condition. He died from his injuries 12 days later on December 27.

No other injuries were reported at the time of the incident.
In a renewed appeal today, gardai urged any road users who were on the N4 near Rathowen, or surrounding roads, between 12.30pm and 12.50pm on December 15 to make any camera or dashcam footage available to them.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are renewing their appeal for witnesses following a road traffic collision that occurred on the N4 in Rathowen, Co. Westmeath on Thursday afternoon, 15th December 2022.
“The driver of the car, a male aged in his 70s, was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar for treatment where later passed away.
“The incident had occurred at approximately 12.30pm on 15th, December 2022 when a car collided with an articulated lorry on the N4 in Rathowen.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward. Any road users who were on the N4 near Rathowen or the surrounding roads between 12.30pm and 12.50pm on 15th December 2022, and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to Gardaí.”
