Gardai have recommended additional CCTV cameras be introduced on a range of streets across the capital to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Popular tourist hot spot Temple Bar was one of the areas identified as was the Boardwalk - where Irish Olympian Jack Woolley was viciously attacked.
The move to establish more cameras on Dublin's streets was outlined to Dublin City Councillors in a report prepared by Assistant Commissioner Anne Cagney.
The report, which was seen by Dublin Live, read: "a number of locations have been identified locally as being priority for additional CCTV cameras, due to the high volume of pedestrian traffic and/or anti-social behaviour issues that necessitated additional CCTV.
The recommended sites for cameras included; Georges Street/Dame Street, Charlemont Mall/Charlemont Street, South William Street/Castlemarket & Parliament Street/Grattan Bridge.
A number of cameras were also recommended to the DMR South Central Crime Prevention Officer "on Vincent Street West & the Emmet Crescent Estate."
The report added: "Gardai are engaging with Dublin City Council in regard to introducing a CCTV system along the Boardwalk."
