Gardai probing a fatal stabbing are appealing for witnesses to a row which broke out shortly before the attack.
The victim, named locally as Brian Hogan, 39, was found seriously injured in the front garden of a house on Collins Place in Finglas, North Dublin, just after 7pm on Friday.
Paramedics tried to resuscitate him at the scene but he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A woman known to him was also injured in the attack and is believed to have sustained stab wounds to her hand.
Two men in their late 30s were last night being held at Finglas and Blanchardstown Garda stations where their period of detention was expected to extend into today.
Gardai believe the incident happened after a row broke out at the house and spilled out into the garden.
The killing is not believed to be feud related.
Last night, local councillor Keith Connelly condemned the violent killing and said more needs to be done to tackle knife crime.
He said: “Here we have a young man brutally murdered who leaves a young family behind.
“In 24 hours we have two people murdered by knife crime in the K [Garda] District which is an alarming statistic.”
A senior investigating officer has been appointed in the murder probe and a garda liaison officer is in contact with Mr Hogan’s family.
Officers from Finglas Garda station were last night carrying out door-to-door inquiries.
Gardai are appealing for any potential witnesses to contact them.
A spokesman said: “Gardai are particularly appealing to those who were in the vicinity of the Collins Place and Ballygall Road West area between 6pm and 7.30pm to contact them.
“They are also asking those with video footage, including dash-cam, from these locations at the time, to make it available to them.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Finglas Garda Station on 01 6667500, the Garda
Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
