Gardai make 14 arrests during blitz on criminal activity and warn of upcoming day of action

Gardai have ramped up Operation Thor's winter phase - making 14 arrests during a day of action in Offaly on Wednesday.

The Operation, which has been in place for years, targets criminal activity and aims to prevent burglaries and the sale of illegal narcotics among other things.

And the midlands county was targeted on Wednesday as part of the latest investigations, with officers from a number of units across Offaly blitzing residences.
