Gardai issue urgent appeal as two girls go missing in Meath

Gardai have issued an urgent appeal to find two teenage girls who are missing from Meath.

Michelle Aifuaw, aged 13, and Alisha Macken, aged 14, have not been since Saturday.

Their last known location is the Ashbourne area and they are currently believed to be in each other’s company.

Michelle is described as being 5’7” tall, of medium build, with black hair and brown eyes. When last seen, she was wearing a black jacket with a fluffy hood over a red top and grey army trousers.

Alisha is described as being 5’5” tall, of stocky build, with blonde hair and blue eyes. When last seen, she was wearing a black top, blue tracksuit bottoms and black runners.

Gardai are appealing for the public to help find them.

A spokesperson said: “Gardai are seeking the public's assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 13 year old Michelle Aifuaw and 14 year old Alisha Macken who are both currently missing from the Ashbourne area of Meath and believed to be in each other's company. Both Michelle and Alisha were last seen on Saturday, 14th January 2023.

“Michelle is described as being 5’7 in height, with a medium build and with black hair and brown eyes. When last seen, she was wearing a black jacket with a fluffy hood, grey army trousers and with a red top.

Alisha Macken, aged 14 (Gardai)

“Alisha is described as being 5’5, with blonde hair and stocky build and blue eyes. When last seen, Alisha was wearing a black top, blue tracksuit bottoms and black runners.”

Anyone with any information on Michelle or Alisha’s whereabouts is asked to contact Ashbourne Garda Station on 01 801 0600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
