Gardai are investigating one of Ireland’s best known sport stars over claims of an alleged €1million fraud.
It is understood the GAA household name is alleged to have taken money from various individuals under false pretences. The cash was supposed to be used to pay for various trips abroad so he could receive medical treatment for an alleged serious illness.
Now doubts are being cast on whether he was actually ill. A number of people have made complaints to gardai that he used the money for his own personal use.
