Gardai are investigating a hit-and-run road traffic collision in Galway that involved a two-year-old girl.
The serious incident happened at around 4pm on Monday afternoon, May 8, at Kilmore roundabout, just outside Tuam.
The collision involved two vehicles, one of which was driven by the mother of the girl, who then appealed to locals for help online as she shared the details of the serious incident, Galway Beo reports.

Writing in the community group Eye On Tuam, the woman claimed a blue coloured car hit them before fleeing the scene and driving up the motorway.
In the post, the mother described the incident as "a very traumatic experience" for both her and her child, and appealed to anyone who was driving in the area at that time to come forward.
She wrote on Facebook: “Hi, I’m looking to see if anyone can help. On Monday last the 8th May, my two year old girl and I were involved in a car accident at between 4pm-4.05pm on the roundabout outside Tuam. ( Roundabout near the west wing restaurant and Supermac’s/Lidl which joins the M18 to the N17). Our car was hit by a blue coloured car.
“The car did not remain at the scene and proceeded to drive up the motorway. As you can imagine this was and is a very traumatic experience for us. I would be grateful if anyone that was around the area at the above time could help or anyone with Dashcam. I would be very grateful for any information.”
A spokesperson for an Garda Siochana confirmed to Galway Beo that investigations are ongoing.
They said: “Gardaí attended the scene of this two vehicle hit and run road traffic collision that occurred on 8th May, 2023 at approximately 4.10pm at Kilmore Roundabout. Investigations ongoing”.
