The body of a woman has been discovered close to the Institute of Technology Sligo.
The woman aged in her late teens was found in Ballinode, Co Sligo on Thursday.
The remains have since been removed from the scene, and a post-mortem will take place in due course.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body (late teens) in Ballinode, Co Sligo on Thursday, February 3, 2022.
“The woman’s body has since been removed from the scene and a post-mortem will take place in due course. The results of the post-mortem which will determine the course of the investigation.”
Gardai do not suspect foul play at this time.
