Gardai hunt gang who abducted and savagely beat innocent man in broad daylight in Finglas

Gardai are hunting a gang of thugs who abducted and savagely beat an innocent man in broad daylight as he walked in Finglas yesterday.

Shocking video footage has emerged of the moment the gang bundled the victim into a silver Ford Galaxy in the Cappagh area of Finglas, west Dublin yesterday afternoon.

The horrific moment was captured on camera by a shocked onlooker who was on a Dublin Bus at the time.

It is understood the gang abducted the young man and later dumped him in the Dunsink Lane area — having brutally beaten him.

Images and videos of the young man lying on the ground covered with blankets in a pool of blood also surfaced — and also show the moment emergency services came to his aid.

Last night gardai confirmed an investigation into the daylight abduction.

“Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances of an incident where a man was assaulted on the evening of Wednesday, 9th February, 2022, in the Finglas area of Dublin.

“The injured man, aged in his 20s, has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” they said.

Gardai added that no arrests had been made last night, and that investigations were ongoing.

The chilling assault yesterday in the Finglas area is not linked to the bitter feud currently raging in the west Dublin suburb between the gangster known as Mr Flashy and a rival local gang.

Two days ago an attempted bomb attack against a property connected to the mob boss instead hit an innocent family home.

On Tuesday, the gang targeting Mr Flashy threw an explosive device at a property in the Deanstown Green area of Finglas — but they hit an innocent family’s home by mistake.

The innocent family’s home was hit when the explosive was thrown into the back garden, causing damage to the back door and window.

No one was injured in the attack and gardai continue to investigate the incident.

The attack was targeting Mr Flashy himself, who The Star has previously revealed now has many enemies — and whose life has effectively been in and out of danger since 2019.

The gang boss has been targeted a number of times in the past and sources say the gang boss is not the major criminal he once was, having lost much of his “muscle” in recent years.

As The Star previously revealed, the relatively young criminal, who once enjoyed the favour of mob boss Daniel Kinahan, lost many of his infamous “Gucci Gang” members in recent times.

The mob terrorised the Finglas area for years — and was led by the gangster known as Mr Flashy and associates such as Scott Capper and Caolan Smyth.

Most of the so-called Gucci Gang are now in jail — including Smyth, Capper, his brother Mark, and hitman Mohammed Smew — or have abandoned them and thus the once dominant mob no longer exists.

His gang also got the name the “Gucci Gang” because of their blatant flaunting of designer gear.

Old pictures uncovered by The Star show that Mr Flashy frequently spent his time with the likes of Smew, Capper, Smyth and Caslin, who formed his notorious crew and acted as his enforcers.

Mr Flashy has been officially notified by gardai of the severe threat to his life in recent times — with him being handed a Garda Information Message (GIM), informing him of this.
