Gardai stopped a motorbike doing well over three times the speed limit on National Slow Down Day.
In the 24 hours of NSDD, from 7am on March 1 to 7am on March 2, gardai and GoSafe detected 1,675 vehicles travelling over the speed limit.
One of these was a motorcyclist on Church Street in Clara, Co Offaly who was going 182km/h in what is a 50km/h zone.
