A recent multi-agency operation targeted numerous motorists breaking road safety rules.
Gardai in Kildare along with other bodies carried out two checkpoints in Naas in recent days where they detected multiple law breaches.
Two motorists were arrested for driving under the influence, while four vehicles were impounded.
Other rule breaks included "dangerous" issues with heavy goods vehicles, as well as green diesel offences.
A garda spokesperson said: "Naas RPU & Gardaí in Kildare District conducted two major multi-agency checkpoints - two motorists were arrested for DUI and four vehicles impounded for no Insurance/tax.
"Other detections included - dangerous defects on HGVs, VRT and green diesel offences."
Gardai have been busy in the county over the past week conducting several checkpoint operations.
In Athy, several offences were identified on Friday involving immigration, drugs and general road traffic violations.
Gardai in Kildare said on Thursday: "Kildare Gardai carried out a joint operation with Revenue's Customs Officers, the RSA and the Health and Safety Authority in Athy today.
"Garda units from Kildare District, Garda Roads Policing, and members of the District Detective Unit under the direction of Supt. Walker carried out the multi agency checkpoint this morning in Athy.
"It targeted unaccompanied drivers, vehicles using green diesel, immigration offences, drugs offences, general road traffic offences.
"A number of offences were detected and a vehicle was seized."
