Newcastle United will be third in the Premier League table heading into the World Cup and will remain their until after Christmas. The Magpies hierarchy will now be working away to try and get deals in place ahead of the January transfer window.
However, away from the hustle and bustle of St. James' Park, one January arrival has sent Eddie Howe a timely reminder of his talent. Garang Kuol scored a brace for Central Coast Mariners in their defeat to Macarthur earlier today.
His first goal came from the penalty spot, before equalising with a brilliant finish from an acute angle. The Toon beat a number of sides in Europe to his signature and the 18-year-old will be given the opportunity to impress with Australia at the World Cup later this month.

Kuol is expected to head out on loan in January, but Howe has previously admitted he didn't know the destination. Speaking prior to his World Cup call-up, the Magpies head coach said: "I'd say, at the moment, the plan would probably be, and these things can change, to go on a loan spell from January.
"Where that is, I've got no idea. We're working through various options, but things can change regarding his involvement in the World Cup if he's selected. There are lots of moving parts to that one as well."
