HYDERABAD: In a huge haul, 470 kg of ganja worth Rs 1.2 crore was seized in eastern parts of Hyderabad at Pasumamula village in Rangareddy district on Monday. Ten inter-state smugglers, who were transporting the contraband from AP’s East Godavari to Mumbai, were caught by Hayathnagar police. Two others gave police the slip.
After purchasing the ganja at Rs 3,000 per kg in the Agency area of East Godavari, the accused were planning to sell the contraband to customers at Rs 20,000 per kg, police said. The smugglers were shipping the ganja in two cars when they were caught on the outskirts of Pasumamula near ORR following a tip-off. Among the arrested were two women.
