In a concerning turn of events, gangs in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, targeted a U.N. helicopter on Thursday, resulting in the aircraft being hit by gunfire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the helicopter safely landed with its three crew members and 15 passengers on board.
This incident comes amidst a surge in violence in Haiti's capital, with the recent attack at the main international airport causing significant disruptions. The violence has not been contained to Port-au-Prince alone, as evidenced by the tragic events in Arcahaie, where around 50 suspected gang members lost their lives in clashes with authorities.
