Gangland feud linked to Daniel crime clan erupts after home of 'rat' targeted in Dumfries

A fresh gangland feud linked to the Daniel crime clan has erupted after the home of a ‘rat’ was targeted in Dumfries. The low-level criminal reportedly had a £5000 bounty placed on his head while serving a sentence at HMP Kilmarnock after mouthing off about the Glasgow family.

After his release at the start of this week, the windows at his home were allegedly smashed during a late night attack by two masked men. Reports have since emerged that an accelerant was poured over the front door of the property on Tuesday night as a warning to the yob.

It is understood that the liquid was not ignited but chilling threats of further attacks have been issued by alleged underworld figures. An account on Instagram shared a video of a car driving past the man’s property, which has a boarded up front door.

One post read: “Chat s**** get left with no window. This is gunna go on every night. We're in charge of you and what happens to you, you snitch. Welcome home. Last night made a victim, same again has just happened.”

It added: “His window has hit at least 6/7 times with summit and he still didn’t come out just like he was hiding in jail.”

A third post read: “He is on police protection. They're doing hourly drive bys. Be careful if doing anything just send pics of bizzies in street or that. Propa victim. Share this to your stories, get the word about. He is on protection.”

A source told the Daily Record: “This guy went into the jail late last year spouting off to the guards and claiming he knew everything about the Daniel family.

Threats have been issued on a now deleted Instagram account (UGC)

“He had £5k put on his head to be slashed while inside but I don’t know if that’s gone up or down now that he’s out. He is so far out of his league and he’s now like a deer in the headlights, not knowing what to do.

“He got out of jail on Monday the 9th. The first night he was out, his windows got smashed at the top of the house.

A local source claims petrol was poured on the front door of the property, which has been boarded up (Daily Record)

“Then last night, the bottom windows have been done and petrol has been poured all over the door.

“There was a video circulating last night that showed a guy holding a red jerry can pouring splashing petrol over the front door of his house as a warning. Everyone in the town's talking about it and sharing the videos. This boy has done himself no favours.”

Police Scotland said they had received no reports about attacks on the property.
