Lead singer of Dublin indie rock outfit Ham SandwicH, Niamh Farrell has revealed she was on a Dublin Bus during the weekend when a group of teenagers “spat” on her.
The incident occurred on Saturday night on the 77a bus. Taking to Twitter after the incident the singer posted that the group were subsequently thrown off the bus by the driver.
Niamh wrote: "On a @dublinbusnews tonight and decided to stand up to a bunch of teenagers on a 77a and I got spat on twice but the lads ended up getting kicked off so that’s a win. Fed up of feeling scared of gangs of 12-year-old children tbh."

Responding to the singer, Dublin Bus said that they hoped she was okay after the incident and then outlined how to log a complaint with the company, however, Niamh it was confirmed that the bus driver had already taken her details and would report it himself.
Dublin Bus then said: "That's good to hear. Thanks for letting us know. Again, we hope you're okay and don't be afraid to reach out to us. We're happy to help."
The news comes less than a month after Dublin Bus suspend services to west Tallaght amid 'escalation of attacks' on drivers. Throughout December, Dublin Bus drivers reported 35 incidents of violence, attacks, vandalism and threats with knives, and in one incident, a female driver was “terrorised by a huge mob”.
