Playstation console gamers can get more than £40 off the PlayStation Plus subscription, giving access to over 400 games and online multiplayer mode.
The deal cuts the price of Playstation's mid-tier access, named Extra, which includes cloud saves, multiplayer online and access to over 400 games that can be played online. It usually costs £83.99 for the year but is reduced by nearly 50% in a January sale.
The Playstation Plus Extra subscription is on sale at £42.85 a year from ShopTo.

Shoppers can get the deal using a specific PlayStation Store gift card. The deal is linked with a £50 PlayStation Store gift card, which slashes the price of the subscription as well as leaving extra credit to use for gaming purchases.
To make the most of the deal shoppers can sign up to ShopTo for free, and buy the deal here. Once purchased the discount code can be found in the 'digital items' section of your ShopTo account. From here select the 'view details' button and wait for the code to be retrieved (do not refresh the browser).
Once retrieved shoppers must do either of these two things depending on what console they have.
For PS5
- Go to settings, users and accounts
- Select account, payment and subscriptions, redeem codes
- Enter the code and select redeem
For PS4
- Go to PlayStation Store > scroll to the bottom of the sidebar > Redeem Codes.
- Carefully enter the code and select Redeem.
- The credit or content is now applied to your account.
A PlayStation account is not essential to play games if you only want to play on single player, but that's it. For multiplayer games and playing online with friends, it is. PlayStation Plus Extra also allows players to ack up saved data for games, so you can start where you left off.
The above deal is only available to new subscribers. However, if you're already a PlayStation Plus Essential member you can upgrade to Extra or Premium, and still save 30%.
