Manchester United fans have pointed out to Brentford manager Thomas Frank that football is a game of two halves after Frank labelled United 'unbelievably lucky.'
Three second-half goals inside 22 minutes from Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford moved interim boss Ralf Rangnick's team level on points with sixth-placed Arsenal.
Ivan Toney poked home with five minutes remaining to deny David de Gea a well-deserved clean sheet in the United goal.
But having watched his side spurn a number of chances in the opening 45 minutes, largely thanks to the reflexes of De Gea and some last-ditch defending from United players, Frank believes his side should have got more from the game.
And United fans took to social media to highlight that United scored three times before Brentford finally put the ball in the back of the net.
Speaking after final whistle, Frank felt that his side were the better team in the opening 45 minutes and said that United were 'unbelievably lucky.'
"We are the smallest club in the Premier League, Manchester United the biggest, we destroyed them in the first half, they didn't have a sniff," said Frank.
"The way we smashed them in the first half was fantastic, so proud of my team.
"They are unbelievably lucky. I know all the crap about taking chances. They changed the system against little Brentford."
Though United had more possession over the course of the game, Brentford had eight shots on targets to United's five and a further four off-target.
Speaking to BT Sport after, he added that United could have used summer signing Jadon Sancho, who missed the game for 'personal reasons', after failing to create a chance in the opening 45 minutes according to Frank.
"They didn't have a chance before their first goal. That's why they pay £72million for [Jadon] Sancho who wasn't in the team."
