'Game-changing' petrol pump button that fills exact amount of fuel blows drivers' minds

When it comes to the rising cost of petrol, many of us are budgeting as tightly as possible in order to keep the amount we're spending on fuel to a minimum.

However, often when at the petrol pump we can accidentally go over what we can afford - but thanks to a 'game-changing' button one driver discovered, you'll get your car filled to the right amount every single time.

In a now viral TikTok, a woman has shared a little-known petrol pump trick that could save you money and time and all it takes is the simple push of a button.

Known only as Livs, the 23-year-old who posts under @livticks shared her shock after discovering a preset button when she was filling up her car, the Mirror reports.

Filming the petrol pump, she explained: "How did I never know this existed?!

"If you click this button two times ten for £20. It will stop itself at exactly £20.

"Wow! That's so cool."

Her clip showed how the cost and fuel on the petrol pump screen was going up - until the sale reached £20 exactly and it stopped.

She also showed a close-up of the preset section on the bottom-right-hand side of the pump, which features five buttons of different price and litre options and an explanation for how to use them.

More than two million people have since watched the video, with over 164,000 liking it and thousands commenting on the "petrol life hack".

One person said: "Wait. You mean no more £20.01???"

Another replied to say that not all petrol stations have the button, but for the ones that do it's a "game-changer".

A third posted: "You can also set it to stop at a certain literage too. Tesco is the only ones I know with it tho."

"Always learning," proclaimed someone else.

A different user added: "I've never seen this."
