Galway and Cork clash this weekend in the first of what promises to be a seismic double-header in Thurles as the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship quarter-finals get underway.
Having lost out against Kilkenny in the Leinster final, Henry Shefflin's Galway side will be looking to recover and reshape their season as they face the Rebels.
A five point loss against Kilkenny in the Leinster decider was a disappointment for a Galway side who looked as though they were building momentum at just the right time prior to the defeat against Brian Cody's side.
Cork, on the other hand, survived a scare in their preliminary quarter-final win over Antrim as the Saffrons looked to spring a major surprise in Corrigan Park.
Antrim led by one at the break and the Rebels had the likes of Séamus Harnedy and Darragh Fitzgibbon to thank as they jumpstarted the revival in the second half and pushed Cork on towards victory.
With 1-2 coming in stoppage time, the final score of 2-19 to 3-27 perhaps misrepresented what was a keenly contested game, but Cork strode on and now face an even bigger test as they come up against Galway.
