A Galway restaurant has hit back after a customer's 'remortgaging house' joke took aim at the place's food prices.
A Charcoal Grill customer posted about their time at the popular Galway takeaway, uploading an image of their final receipt and its accompanying price tag, Galway Beo reported.
It shows that a 'chicken doner' was purchased for €15.50, which is the price for a meal of kebab, chips and drink.

When contacted by Galway Beo, a member of staff at Charcoal Grill stated that they have kept a business in Galway operating for two decades and have had to change prices "due to inflation."
They said that €15.50 is the price for the full chicken doner meal deal when bought for sitting inside the restaurant and that a chicken kebab can be purchased on its own for €10.
The customer first posted a picture of their receipt on social media, with the joke: "It was nice and everything but I now have to remortgage my house."
They relayed that their heart 'was a bit broken' by it, adding: "and this was at lunchtime!"
The post had people disagreeing as some agreed on the price being a bit much, while others felt the other way.
One person commented: "I mean f***, that’s gone up a lot since I last got one!"
Another said: "You knew the price, you ordered it, you ate it."
A final wrote: "How much were you expecting to be charged when you saw the meal listed as costing 15.50?"
