Star forward Shane Walsh has left the entire Galway GAA community in shock after requesting a transfer to join Dublin and Leinster giants Kilmacud Crokes.
The 29-year old, who scored nine points in last week's All-Ireland final in one of the great losing performances in the history of the competition, has informed his home club Kilkerrin/Clonberne that he wishes to line-out for the Stillorgan based club.
Walsh would strengthen a Kilmacud Crokes side that made it all the way to the All-Ireland club final earlier this year before losing in heartbreaking fashion to Kilcoo in extra-time.
