The Melbourne Renegades are nervously awaiting results of scans on Shaun Marsh's injured hamstring after their BBL derby win over the Melbourne Stars.
The Renegades had player-of-the-match Tom Rogers (5-16) to thank for their 33-run triumph at the MCG on Tuesday night.
The result ended the Renegades' four-match losing streak and squared their season record at 4-4.
But it came at a cost, with Marsh injured early in his knock of 32 off 35 deliveries and clearly hampered while running.
The 39-year-old, who missed the start of the season with a calf injury, did not field during the Stars' run chase and was sent for scans.
"After playing a fair few games against him and missing the middle of his bat almost never, I'm pretty keen to see him back on the park," Rogers said.
Marsh's latest setback comes after the Renegades lost captain Nic Maddinson (knee) and experienced batter Peter Handscomb (heat stress) in their previous game.
Maddinson is out for the season, while Handscomb is set to return against the Hobart Hurricanes on Saturday.
Another extended period of absence for Marsh would be a hammer blow as the Renegades chase a return to finals action after three straight wooden spoons.
"It will (test our depth) but over the course of the season so far there have been different contributions from different players as we've gone along," Rogers said.
"(Aaron) Finch is class, he's leading from the front there, and (Jon) Wells is chipping in as well.
"We always knew there was going to be an opportunity for other players across the tournament, especially in the back half, and perhaps that scenario just moves forward a little bit."
Rogers' career-best haul of five wickets against the Stars was a stunning response to cricket's latest Mankad controversy.
Stars captain Adam Zampa tried to run out Rogers as the non-striker crept out of his crease, in an incident that has sparked heated debate.
Rogers laughed off the incident, while Zampa said he'd have no issue performing the action again.
Rogers has claimed a team-high 15 wickets for the Renegades this season at an average of 15.9 with an economy rate of 8.2.
