Arsenal's new signing Gabriel Jesus has explained the four things he will do for the Gunners to match club legend Thierry Henry's legacy at the Emirates.
The Brazilian forward signed for Arsenal earlier this week, sealing a £45million move from Premier League champions Manchester City. The 25-year-old was persuaded to move to north London and reunite with Mikel Arteta, excited by the club's vision and opportunity to be the main striker at the Emirates.
Other clubs tried to hijack the deal, but the Brazil international had his heart set on a move to the Gunners after technical director Edu had held positive talks with Jesus' camp. Speaking to GOAL in his first external interview after making the move from the Etihad to north London, Jesus has outlined the four things he will offer to the Gunners as he follows in the footsteps of his footballing idol, Thierry Henry.

Growing up in Brazil, Jesus would rarely get the chance to watch European football, but the 25-year-old admitted he idolised Arsenal legend Thierry Henry as a youngster. Speaking to GOAL, Jesus said: “When you say Arsenal, you mean Thierry Henry.
"Thierry is unique, he is one of the greatest players ever. But I don’t want to be the new Thierry Henry.
"I want to make myself a name in this club’s history," he continued. Jesus registered 90 goal contributions in 159 Premier League appearances, and will now get the chance to show his ability and talent on a regular basis as he becomes the Gunners' focal point in attack.
The Brazilian went on to outline what he will bring to Mikel Arteta's side as the club prepare for their pre-season fixtures. Arsenal are currently on a four-day training camp in Germany as they prepare to face Bundesliga 2. outfit Nurnberg on Friday, July 8.
“I will be there: 90 minutes per game in the box, trying to score, trying to help. Not only with goals, also with assists," Jesus said.
"Covering the ball. Running, in my style. Never stop. Helping my team, helping my team-mates. Yeah, that’s me.”
It is clear from Jesus' words that he is willing to give his all for his new team ahead of a busy 2022/23 campaign with the Gunners fighting in four different competitions and targeting a top four spot in the league. Arsenal are expected to add further signings to their squad before the transfer deadline, with Lisandro Martinez, Youri Tielemans and Alejandro Grimaldo all being linked with a move to the Emirates.
