Everton's Gabby George has scooped the Barclays Women's Super League Player of the Month Award after a string of impressive displays in January.
George has established herself as an integral part of Brian Sorensen's squad, having primarily been deployed as a wing-back under her new manager. The defender has featured in all of Everton's league games so far this term, helping the Blues climb to fifth in the table after last month's back-to-back home victories against Reading and West Ham.
George showed her attacking prowess against the Royals, bagging an assist before capping off a superb Everton display with a stunning strike that was also nominated for the league's Goal of the Month Award. The 26-year-old then went on to show her defensive nous in the Blues' clash with West Ham, helping Everton to a 3-0 victory over the Hammers.

George was among a host of WSL stars in contention for Player of the Month, with Everton teammate Jess Park having also been nominated for the prize.
Reacting to her award win, George told club media: "It is an honour to accept this award. I want to give a big thank you to everyone who voted for me.
"Hopefully myself and the team can continue to kick on over the second half of the season and make our fans proud."
Everton will be back in action on Sunday, when they will travel to league leaders Manchester United in a bid to continue their rich vein of form in the WSL.
