A local GAA club has paid a heartwarming tribute to an opposing player after he suffered a tragic loss one week ago.
Galway Beo report that Corofin legend Gary Sice, who just lost his wife Bevin to illness, bravely took to the field to play against rivals, An Spidéal.
In an incredibly poignant moment at Pearse Stadium on Tuesday evening, Sice was applauded by the entire crowd as he entered the fray.

His marker, Spidéal's Seamus O'Droighneain gave him a respectful handshake when they came face to face and after the match, as a mark of respect for Gary and Bevin, Spideal players paid tribute to both.
The opposing players brought flowers into the Corofin changing room for Gary.
Galway Bay FM's Jonathan Higgins confirmed the move in a tweet saying: "Classy touch by an Spidéal players bringing a bunch of flowers into the Corofin dressing for Gary Sice after today's game. Got to love the spirit of the GAA."
Corofin club wrote: "Corofin GAA Club are saddened by the untimely passing of Bevin Sice early this morning, in the gentle care of her loving family."
"The club extends its deepest sympathy to Gary, Sadhbh and the extended Sice and Grant families on their tragic loss. We hold the family dear in our thoughts and prayers during these difficult and challenging times."
"Bevin brought light, joy and happiness into all of the lives she has touched, she confronted adversity with courage and hope; may her gentle soul now rest in peace."
Her death notice reads: "Bevin Sice, originally from Kilkenny passed away peacefully at her home after battling a long illness.
"She will be sadly missed by her loving family, husband Gary, adorable daughter Sadhbh, Mother Una, father Jim as well as siblings Claire Cathy and Deirdre, mother-in-law Mary, father-in-law Jim, sister-in-law Emma, brothers-in law David, Neill, Ian, Brian and Hugh as well as her extended family of aunts uncles and cousins."
