G7 leaders welcomed the deal between the U.S. and Iran, calling it a "historic opportunity to prevent Iran from acquiring any nuclear weapon and tackling the threats related to its regional and ballistic activities."
In a joint statement, the countries also emphasized the need for "a robust and comprehensive diplomatic follow-on agreement to the Memorandum of Understanding," which will be negotiated over a 60-day period after the signing of the temporary document.
