Nottingham Forest could be forced to wait until the start of October to return to action after the Premier League's game week seven fixtures were postponed due to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's death.
The Reds were due to travel to Leeds United on Monday evening to conclude this weekend's action in the top flight. However, the Queen's death was confirmed at around 6:30pm on Thursday, September 8, 2022 after being placed under 'medical supervision' earlier in the day.
Her death has sent the nation into a prolonged period of national mourning and the football calendar has been altered. Despite the UK Government's approval that games could be played under certain conditions, the Premier League and EFL confirmed in a statement shortly after 11:30am on Friday that all fixtures over the weekend will be postponed.
