Furlough granted to dera chief: HC summons record

Haryana Punjab Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh CHANDIGARH Dera Sacha Sauda

CHANDIGARH: Taking cognisance of a plea seeking cancellation of the Haryana government’s order granting 21-day furlough to controversial Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the Punjab and Haryana high court on Friday directed the Haryana government to file reply on the issue by Monday.

The court has also summoned the record from the state government to verify if the dera chief falls in the category of hard-core criminal who are debarred from getting any parole or furlough.
