Furious I'm a Celebrity star claims she was 'set up' on Loose Women

Former I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here star Kim Woodburn is calling for a "full investigation" after she says she was "set up" on Loose Women.

The 81-year-old said she was "pulled to pieces" during her appearances on the popular lunchtime programme. Kim said the recent controversy surrounding This Morning has brought it all back and has accused certain ITV shows of thriving on "bullying and being unkind".

She told new! magazine: "I’ve been saying it all along and now I feel like I’m finally being proven right. ITV needs a full investigation."

Kim said she agreed to appear on Loose Women in 2018 "on the understanding it was for a reconciliation with Coleen". However, she now claims she was "exploited" and that ITV should "provide a better duty of care".

She added: "ITV reassured me that it wouldn’t be a slagging match but that’s exactly what it was. Any time I’ve been on before there’s always been a live feed of the show in the dressing room, but this time there wasn’t".

An ITV spokesperson said: “As we said five years ago, Kim agreed to appear on the show on the understanding it was for a reconciliation with Coleen.

"Kim becoming upset was never the intention and the panel did endeavour to comfort her. Kim was offered and accepted support from ITV following the programme and Ofcom found the programme not to be in breach of the Broadcasting Code.”
