Frustrated Gareth Bale angrily pushed a TV camera away from his face at the final whistle as Wales crashed out of the World Cup.
Wales' record scorer and captain was subbed at the break with his side holding England 0-0 in their must-win final group game. But he was powerless to help his side in the second half as they crashed to a 3-0 loss with Marcus Rashford scoring twice either side of Phil Foden's goal.
It condemned Rob Page's side to last place in Group B with only one point at the nation's first World Cup in 64 years.
Bale's frustrations appeared to boil over after the final whistle as he stood up to leave Wales' technical area and walk onto the pitch to commiserate with his teammates.
He was closely followed by a cameraman with a handheld device to film the star's emotions and Bale twice pushed the lens away from his face.
The star, 33, who has been tipped to potentially retire after the tournament, then went on to the pitch to congratulate and hug most of England's players.
Bale later spent time with his teammates and went to thank the Wales fans behind the goal at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium after the incident.
Reflecting on elimination, Bale added: "Everyone is disappointed. I think we're all proud of what we've achieved to get here. We have to look at how far we've come.
"Of course, we would have loved to have gone past the group but football is difficult.
"Teams go through good runs and bad runs and we didn't quite live up to our expectations this tournament.
"But we'll take massive experience from it and going forward we need to look at how far we've come.
"To be at a World Cup, if you'd asked us that two years ago, we'd have all pinched ourselves. It's disappointing to go out but we'll all walk out of that changing room with our heads held high and proud of each other."
